Luis Orbegoso, born in Lima Peru in 1971, has been working in the music business for 16 years. Upon graduation from Humber college in 1994, he began his professional career as a percussionist and to this day he continues to grow in this realm. He has participated in different collaborative projects with musicians who are pioneers in Afro Cuban, Afro Peruvian, Colombian, and other Latin American forms of music. Among many achievements, Luis was part of the award winning group "Cruzao", when they were awarded with the "Prix de Jazz" at the Montreal Jazz festival in 2002. He has appeared on recordings with Nellie Furtado, Hilario Duran, and Ralph Irizarri, just to name a few. ONe of the biggest hilights for Luis was performing with Stevie Wonder at the Air Canada center in November of 2007. Luis performs regularly at Toronto venues and is open to his continuing development in the music business, as he keeps gaining from new experiences.
